SeasonFamily Theater: Pinocchio
Pinocchio is an original musical performed by local teens and adults. Long-time Wellesley Players members and town residents, Wil Breden and Barbara Tarlin are teaming up as music director and stage director to bring this new version of Pinocchio to the stage. Wil Breden, a well-known local composer who has also written scores for WPFT productions Aladdin and Adora, The Princess and the Pirate, Jack and the Beanstalk and Heroes of the Garden wrote the music. The book, by Bob Barker, is based on the well-known children’s story of the woodcutter whose puppet is transformed into a real boy with the help of the Blue Fairy. Pinocchio learns about the importance of family values and telling the truth during the course of his adventures in this ninety minute musical. All children attending the performances will have a chance to meet Pinocchio, The Blue Fairy, Geppetto and the other characters following the show when the cast comes out for hellos, hugs, photos and autographs. This production is sponsored in part by a grant from The Fund for Wellesley, which provided access to the performances for families who might otherwise not have been able to attend. Production Dates: Sat., April 5 at 11:00 a.m. and 3 p.m.; Sun. April 6 at 3:00 p.m. Directed by Barbara Tarlin Performances will be at Wellesley Middle School. Click below for tickets: |
