March 16-18 and 23-25, 2012The final production of The Wellesley Players’ 86th season is Oliver!, book, music and lyrics by Lionel Bart, and based upon the Charles Dickens book of the same name. Oliver! explores the trials and tribulations of an orphan who is banished from his orphanage for daring to ask for more food. The title character falls in with a group of petty thieves led by Fagin, who teaches Oliver the ways of the pickpocket. Oliver! will be directed by Richard Repetta, who has led several Wellesley Players productions in recent years. Chris Holownia returns to music direct following his success with Annie. Oliver! will be performed March 16-25, 2012 at the Sorenson Center for the Arts at Babson College in Wellesley.
